Why Dog Waste Removal Service?

Clock silhouette for our "Why Dog Waste Removal" section of website describing why homeowners will save time with dog waste

We get it.  Many of us lead very busy lives.  Getting the kids off to school, working all day and the traveling to and from work.  Then there's the evening routines of dinner preparations, family time, miscellaneous chores and preparing for the next day...rinse and repeat!  Then Saturday and Sunday come with the "weekend do list"...often quite lengthy...a mix of both chores and recreation.  And for many, the bottom and least desirable on that list is picking up doggy land mines in your front, side or back yards.  For many, it's a task to avoid or one left to the kids and done reluctantly, and dear I say, haphazardly.

For some, you may have plenty of time and actually enjoy constantly picking up poop in your yard.  But for others, time is important and quality time is even more so.  And for others, maybe you're not able to clean up after your four-legged friend.  Allow us to do the dirty work for you and give you back more quality time.

Dog waste attracts rodents such as mice and rats.  As nocturnal creatures, you likely won't see these critters foraging around your yard during daylight hours.  Dog poop can contain undigested food particles containing proteins and other nutrients attractive to these rodents.

Additionally, dog poop does not make good fertilizer.  Unlike ruminant animals such as cows that make excellent nitrogen rich fertilizer, dog waste, if left out on your lawn, is harmful to your turf.  You want to know why you have dead brown spot on your lawn?  It's a combination of urine and dog waste left unchecked.

Our grid like scooping pattern ensures your yard is always poop free when we leave.

We thoroughly clean our tools between visits as a preventative measure against cross contamination.

For weekly and bi-weekly subscribers, we take your dog's poop with us.

For spring and one-time cleanups, we double bag your dog's poop and leave it by your trash.

You will receive a text message when we're on our way as well as when your scoop is complete.

If you enjoy scooping your dog's poop but have no place to discard it, our bucket service is a low cost solution for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What areas do you serve? We proudly serve Acushnet, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Freetown, Lakeville, Marion, Mattapoisett, Middleboro, New Bedford, Rochester, Wareham and Westport.

How much do you charge? Our standard charges for weekly scooping are $18/cleanup for your first dog and $3 for each additional dog. Twice per week service begins at $13/visit. Every other week starts at $25 per visit and increases $4 for each additional dog. For new accounts requiring an extensive cleaning, we charge a new account start-up deep cleaning fee of $60 or more, depending on how much deferred maintenance there is. If you are overwhelmed with how much has accumulated and just want us to do the big one time clean up, that price is based off how many dogs you have, and how much poop has accumulated.

How do I inquire or get started? It’s easy to get started. In most cases, all it takes is a phone call or text message to (508) 972-4517. We also love emails and are happy to set you up for emailing if that is your preferred method of communication. You can email us at info.poopscoopsquad@gmail.com. Or you can respond to any number of our request for a quote on this site.

Do I need to be home? We understand life is busy and that is one of the reasons you may be hiring us. You definitely do not need to be home as long as any aggressive dogs are put away and the scooper has access to your yard. We have a specific notes section for each of our clients where we can add gate codes, special instructions, where to find a box for a key to the gate, etc.

How do I pay you? We will send you a secured and encrypted invoice link via text message or email through our payment system. You can pay that with a debit or any major credit card. For recurring subscribers to our services (twice per week, weekly, every other week) there is a check box where you enter your payment that says “Save my card”. Clicking that box will set you up for automatic payments for the future. If you add your email address to your account you will be emailed a receipt every time that your card is charged.  For one-time cleanups we accept cash, credit/debit cards and check payments.

Do you charge me if I cancel one of my regular cleanings? If you and your dogs are going to be out of town and would like to skip a week or two, there is no charge for skipping a cleaning. We just ask that you give us 24 hours notice so we can update our scheduling. If you do not notify us within 24 hours we will still charge you for your cleaning. If you do skip a cleaning and the dogs are still using the yard, you will be charged based on when the last cleanup was. For example, if you are a weekly client with one dog ($18) and need to skip a week because of snow, the next week you will be charged the biweekly price for one dog ($25).

Are you licensed and insured? Yes. We are fully insured. However, in Massachusetts there are no licensing requirement for the services we provide.

Does the size of my dog or yard matter? We typically charge the same for small or large dogs. Sometimes people think that since their small dogs produce small poops, our service should be less expensive.  Often, small dog poop is hard to find, especially when in a gravel or grass yard. We will advise you on our first visit if we need to modify our pricing prior to starting any service for you. If your yard is larger than .375 acre we do charge as if there is an additional dog ($3 for weekly service, $4 for biweekly service, etc). If it's around a half acre we charge as if for two additional dogs. If it is bigger, we will contact you about modifying the price based on the time it takes to clean your yard.  If you have an invisible fence and your dog(s) are restricted to a smaller section of a large lot, our pricing is based on the restricted area.

What days and times will you be doing my yard?  Can I pick my day and time? Our service days are from dawn to dusk, Monday through Saturday. However, our routes vary by geographic area. We will try to accommodate special scheduling requests, but that is not always possible. Call us and we can share what day or days of the week that we will be in your general area. Exact timing of our visits is not common since each visit is unpredictable in length of time. We would ask that you be flexible and allow us to visit as time permits on your assigned day, and if you have need for more specific timing one week, just reach out to us and we will try our best to be accommodating.

Do I need to sign a contract? No, you are able to sign up and cancel at any time. However, we do ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice! Failure to notify us of a cancellation without a 24-hour notice may result in still being charged for the service.
